The Spirit Matters
As a Catholic organization, St. Vincent Medical Center recognizes the critical role the spirit and emotions play in the physical healing process. For that reason, we offer an array of spiritual support services to patients and visitors.
Pastoral and Spiritual Care
Following the Catholic tradition and our Vincentian values, St. Vincent Medical Center approaches healing from a holistic view—body, mind and spirit. Providing support for the healing work of the hospital’s medical professionals, a team of chaplains at the hospital are available to speak with and minister to patients, visitors and staff.
Both Catholic and Protestant chaplains are available, as well as spiritual leaders from other faith traditions. Spiritual support is available in a variety of languages from trained chaplains who understand and are sensitive to the varied cultural backgrounds of our patients.

Chapel and Mass
Located on the third floor, the chapel at St. Vincent Medical Center is available all day, every day, to everyone—regardless of religious affiliation—for personal prayer and meditation.
Mass is held daily in the chapel at the following times:
Monday-Friday: 11:30 a.m.
Saturday: 4 p.m.
Sunday: 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
There is a quarterly memorial mass for deceased patients. In addition, interfaith activities are held at the hospital on a regular basis throughout the year.
